Who is Marcus?

He's a Reggae DJ, a musician, a singer, a songwriter, a record producer, a band leader, an artist. 

Born in East London in 1958, Marcus Upbeat has been around the UK Reggae and Ska scene since he started out as a teenage DJ back in 1972. 

He has collaborated with and worked alongside some of the biggest names in the Jamaican and UK Reggae and Ska fraternity over the years, including Lee 'Scratch' Perry, Rico Rodriguez, Laurel Aitken, Prince Buster, Winston Francis, Dave Barker, Dennis Alcapone, and Gaz Mayall among others.

Marcus has fronted many bands and released a number of self-produced albums and vinyl singles over the years.

He is still regularly active spinning vinyl, performing gigs, recording, and promoting the music that he loves.
