You Wanna Get Busy With Me - Persia with No.1 Station 2005
Written and Produced by Marcus Upbeat Nancy Gininza was an 18 year old music student from Swaziland. Marcus met her when she worked at a local pub he frequented. He first heard her singing at a gathering of friends afrter the pub one night and her voice literally brought him to tears. Although her passion was for rock music, and she had no interest in Reggae or Ska. she agreed to sing two songs for him but using the pseudonym 'Persia.' Marcus wrote this song especially to suit her voice. He still regards it as one of the best records he's made.

Tan Tan Blue Beat - Tan Tan & No.1 Station 2005
Written by Eddie Thornton and Marcus UpbeatProduced by Siggy Jackson.
Marcus knew Tan Tan for years through his Rico and Jazz Jamaica connections. Tan Tan is a true pioneer and legend of Jamaican music in the UK, having played on scores of cassic records over the years, including by Prince Buster, Georgie Fame and the Blue Flames, and even the Beatles on whose Revolver album he was featured. Tan Tan brought his own Jamaican Alpha Boys School flavour to the fore in this authentic Blue Beat scorcher. Marcus added the vocal refrain and peps to the proceedings.

Hit and Run - Judge Mental & No.1 Station 2005
Written by Marcus Upbeat Produced by Siggy Jackson.
Marcus wanted to pay tribute to the great old 'Rude Boy' records the Prince Buster and others were putting out in the sixties, and were so influential amongst UK youth back in the day, so he wrote this track to deliver an homage  to the 'Judge Dread' courtroom records. The band played the rhythm track, and Marcus delivered the vocal spontaneously, straight to tape. He credited the record to 'Judge Mental' to give the impression that there were more artists involved in the recordings.

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year  Remix - Lee Perry  1986
When Marcus went to Ariwa to overdub his Melodica version to I Am A Madman, Patrick Meads asked him to also supply a Melodica riff to go with  the Merry Christmas track . Marcus was glad to oblige.  He also reprogrammed the drum beat for a reissue of the track. He was never credited for his work.
I Am A  Madman/Madman Dubwise. Trojan. 1986
After the release of the Battle of Armagideon album Marcus approached Lee Perry and asked to record a Melodica version of I Am A Madman for possible release as the B side of a 7" single release of that track. By that time Lee had moved on to working with Adrian Sherwood and was not interested in the idea, so Marcus took the idea to Patrick Meads at Trojan who booked studio time at Ariwa Studio with Mad Professor where Marcus recorded his Melodica version. For some reason the Melodica was mixed into the vocal track much to Marcus's disdain and his instrumental version was buried as track four on the B side of the reissue of Merry Christmas Happy New Year. The track was written by Marcus, but he was not credited for his work.
